The INSORB®|20 Subcuticular Skin Stapler represents a revolutionary new skin closure modality designed to combine the cosmetic result of absorbable suture with the rapid closure times associated with metal skin staplers, while eliminating the need for metal staple removal post-operatively. The INSORB®|20 Absorbable Staple is comprised of a co-polymer of polylactic acid and polyglycolic acid, which is absorbed over a period of a few months.
Replicates the familiar technique and method surgeons use to close incisions with metal skin staples. Enables clinicians to time-effectively place an interrupted “stitch” .. an absorbable staple that elminiates the need for removal post-operatively.
Provides a uniform, symmetrical, everted closure.
Eliminates the percutaneous insult to the epidermis resulting from the use of metal skin staples.
Virtually eliminates the potential of suture needle sticks.

Is comprised of a Poly-Lactic Acid/Poly-Glycolic Acid (PLA/PGA) co-polymer with an established history of wound closure. Initial studies suggest that this copolymer is “tissue-friendly”.
Utilizes the proprietary Incisive closure technology, the INSORB® Absorbable Staple is placed through the tissue path created by two surgically sharpened needles, and securely fastens the approximated edges of tissue.
Degrades via a process of hydrolysis and is gradually absorbed by the body over a period of months.
Design features a proprietary polymeric U-shaped staple with cleats.
